The Academy for Community Leadership (ACL) is a vehicle to promote our community, its leaders, and the industries they serve while providing valuable networking opportunities for participants. Over the course of ten weekly sessions, participants are exposed to our local history, business community, government, health care, cultural awareness, education, and more.
For 46 years, community leaders have participated in this beneficial program. Over the course of 10 weeks, participants can expect an engaging, interactive experience where they network with fellow classmates and speakers, hear from community leaders in various industries, learn more about Muncie-Delaware County, and participate in a community service project.
Testimonials
“When I began my journey at Ivy Tech Muncie over five years ago, ACL was instrumental in helping me get acquainted with the area. This community is steeped in history and brimming with entrepreneurial spirit. I still keep in touch with the professionals who were part of my cohort. I would recommend anyone new to Muncie to take part in ACL.”
– Jennifer Gasiorek, Ivy Tech Community College, 2017 Graduate
“Because of the ACL, I feel I have a better understanding of Muncie, Delaware County, and its rich culture and history. I have learned so much and would encourage anyone living in the area to participate in this program.”
– Daniel Gurulé, Erskine Green Training Institute, 2021 Graduate
“I loved the variety of industries represented by the other program participants. It really widened my network of people to be connected to even though I have worked in Muncie-Delaware County over 25 years!”
– Jena Ashby, Nonprofit Support Network, 2024 Graduate
